Kristina Hryniuk, 17 years old, Khmelnytskyi Oblast
Christina has a big, kind heart, which is why she dreams of helping animals, opening her own shelter, and sharing her kindness and love with dogs. She loves to draw and do beadwork, and, like any girl, she dreams of high-quality skincare products.
Kristina Gryniuk was born in 2008 and is from the village of Mytynci in the Khmelnytskyi region. She is undergoing treatment for severe aplastic anemia. It is a difficult and exhausting journey that requires a lot of strength, patience, and daily struggle, but despite everything, Kristina radiates a very bright, kind, and warm energy. She has a big and compassionate heart—which is why her dreams are always centered on caring for others. Kristina loves animals very much and dreams of creating her own dog shelter in the future. She wants to share love, care, and warmth with those who need it most, and ensure that no animal ever feels lonely or abandoned. Creativity plays an important role in her life. Christina loves to draw—through her drawings, she can express her mood, dreams, and inner world. She also enjoys beadwork: this activity helps her calm down, focus, and create something beautiful with her own hands. Like many girls her age, Christina has her own little joys and desires. She dreams of high-quality skincare products, as she wants to feel cared for and maintain a sense of a normal teenage life even during treatment. Her story is one of kindness that doesn’t fade even in difficult times. It’s the story of a girl who, despite her illness, continues to dream of care, beauty, animals, and a world where she can do good for others.
