Ksyusha, 10 years old
I love to draw and spread warmth and kindness to everyone around me. That’s why I actively participate in all kinds of workshops, especially art therapy sessions. Despite my illness—anaplastic lymphoma—I’m very brave and have a big dream: to become an artist! And when I grow up, I’m definitely going to get a hamster and a fox.
Ksenia Nesenyuk, 10 years old, is from Kostiantynivka. Because of the war, she and her family were forced to leave their hometown and move to Dnipro in search of a safer place to live. But very soon, the family faced yet another difficult ordeal—Ksenia was diagnosed with anaplastic lymphoma. After a difficult course of treatment, the disease, unfortunately, returned—she suffered a relapse. In April, the family came to Kyiv for treatment at the Okhmatdyt National Children’s Specialized Hospital, where Ksenia is now bravely undergoing a new phase in her fight for her health. Despite all the difficulties, she remains a very cheerful, kind, and sincere girl who knows how to bring warmth to everyone around her. Ksyusha loves to draw—it is through creativity that she finds peace, inspiration, and a way to express her emotions. She enjoys attending all the art workshops, and she loves art therapy the most, because there she can not only create but also dream. Her drawings are always filled with kindness, bright colors, and hope. Despite her illness, Ksyusha remains incredibly brave and strong. She sincerely believes in her recovery and has a big dream—to become an artist so she can bring joy and light to people through her paintings. Also, when she grows up, she definitely wants to get a hamster and a fox—because she loves animals very much and dreams of having little fluffy friends by her side. Her story is an example of the great strength of a little girl who, despite all her trials, continues to dream, smile, and believe in goodness.
